Statement of Purpose

At St Peter’s Medical Practice we aim to treat all of our patients promptly, courteously and in complete confidence. We aim to deliver a “Best Practice”

Standard of care by providing suitable patient consultations to establish an appropriate diagnosis, treatment and care plans – a service which is further enhanced by patient participation, continuous improvement and staff involvement. We offer a family friendly service. In order to achieve this, the following objectives have been set:

  • To provide the best possible quality service to all our patients within a confidential and safe environment by working together.
  • To show our patients courtesy and respect at all times irrespective of ethnic origin, religious belief, personal attributes or the nature of the health problem.
  • To involve our patients in decisions regarding their treatment.
  • To promote good health and well-being to our patients through education and information.
  • To involve allied healthcare professionals in the care of our patients where it is in their best interests.
  • To encourage our patients to get involved in the practice through an annual survey and encouragement to comment on the care they receive.
  • To ensure that all members of the team have the right skills and training to carry out their duties competently.
  • St Peter’s Medical Practice is a well-established, respected surgery and has been a family doctor surgery for 100 yrs. It is situated in the centre of Mansfield Town. All on one level the building makes disabled/wheelchair access easily available. The surgery is also conveniently situated close to bus station and railway station. We are constantly looking at ways to improve and offer new services.

Our PMS (Primary Medical Services) practice serves 2740 patients.

At the moment we are single handed GP Practice but are looking for a salaried GP with a view for a partnership.

The Practice also employs a Practice Nurse, Healthcare Assistant and a team of receptionists, Practice Manager and Data Quality/summariser, and is also supported by Care Trust staff, including a Midwife, Health Visitors, and District Nurses and Community Matron.

The Practice offers a wide range of Enhanced Services including minor surgery joint injections, and extended hours appointments available evenings and weekends provided by Practices within our federated group.

Our regulated activities are Diagnostic and screening procedures, maternity and midwifery services, surgical procedures and treatment of disease, disorder or injury.
