Extended Access
We are working with some of our Local Practices, to offer additional later appointments, as well as weekend appointments.
Extended GP access service is accessible 7 days per week. If you require an appointment please enquire with the reception team.
All GP Surgeries across Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark and Sherwood can now offer evening and weekend routine GP appointments. These appointments are available to all residents who are registered with a GP Practice in Mid Nottinghamshire.
The appointment may not take place at your usual GP surgery, but at another nearby. Your GP surgery will be able to provide you with more information about the location at the time of booking an appointment. The receptionist provided you with for further information and directions including any parking information.
Appointments are available up to 8pm on a weekday, Saturdays mornings and Sundays from 9am – 1pm.
Please note: Sunday appointments are currently only available at Sherwood Medical Practice.
Please note that these appointments are for non-emergencies and are pre-bookable only.
If you find that you no longer need your appointment please cancel it so that these can be offered to other patients.
For further information please speak to your GP Surgery. A frequently asked questions information sheet has been produced in partnership with some of our practice managers and GPs and can be found here (PDF, 82KB).
Out Of Hours
Outside normal surgery hours (evenings, weekends and bank holidays) emergency cover for the practice is provided by Primary Care (PC24) Out of Hours service. PC24 is an urgent care centre based next to the Kings Mill Hospital Emergency Department (ED) that provides medical care for patients that do not need Emergency Department Care. It is a nurse led service (Monday – Friday) and is supported by General Practitioners (GP’s) in the out of hours period (i.e. anytime that your normal GP practice is closed).
This service is for problems which cannot wait until the next available surgery. You will be required to provide full information about your problem and will be expected if required to attend PC24 if necessary. Advice may also be given if attending for a face to face appointment is not deemed to be required.
During out of hours you should contact the NHS 111 service if you urgently need medical help or advice but it is not a life threatening situation.

If you are confronted by a serious problem such as severe chest pain of severe bleeding call an ambulance (tel: 999) before calling the surgery. If you need to contact the surgery please telephone on: 01623 422355 and press '1' when you have listened to the recorded message.
